In Brut’s interview, Abhishek discussed how he dropped out of Boston University to help his father. “My dad was going through this really tough time,” he said, explaining that their business didn’t take off. He also revealed that he didn’t feel qualified to help in any way, but felt he had to be there for his father. He recalled how they had decided to make it work, that they would fight in this painful situation.

Abhishek also mentioned that Big B visited Yash Chopra, explaining the dire situation, and that evening he was offered Mohabbatein. Abhishek said his parents always raised him to have no backup and not be a quitter. He explained that if a person knows they don’t have a safety net, they will work hard and not give up.

While on Ranveer Singh’s The Big Picture show, Abhishek elaborated further and said, “I can’t be seated in Boston and my dad doesn’t know how he’s going to have dinner. That’s how bad it was, and he said it publicly. He had to borrow money from his staff to put food on the table. I just felt morally obligated to be with him.

Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in the Bob Biswas movie, while Amitabh Bachchan has several movies including Brahmastra in the works.
