Fishing gear stolen from boats in Sarasota
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Sarasota Police are asking the public for assistance in identifying at least five people seen removing fishing gear from boats near the Sarasota Yacht Club.
Surveillance video, shot between 7 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 8 a.m. on October 24, shows individuals removing high-end fishing gear from at least three boats moored near the 1100 block of John Ringling Boulevard, the report said. police.
Three different victims called the police to report the theft of fishing rods and reels from their boats. In total, at least six fishing rods, four spinning reels and various other fishing equipment were taken, valued at approximately $ 25,000.
